I read this book what seems like a million times from age 10 to a teenager. Its a wonderful ghost story about a little girl and a ghost with the same name. My daughter is only 8 now, but I've started her on chapter books and when she's a couple of years older I'll be getting her this book. I really learned to love to read after reading this book and I hope it does the same for her.

Abandoned by her mother at age five and sent to live with her grandparents in their 19th-century mansion, Zoe is delighted to discover that living in the house is a playmate her age, named Zoe Louise. That no one else can see Zoe Louise doesn't bother Zoe, until she discovers that Zoe Louise is the ghost of a girl who died in a fire on her 11th birthday.

An excellent middle-school read. Two girls from different times occupy the same house, and appear as ghosts in each other's lives. The present-day girl must make a change in the past to avert a tragedy that still echoes in her own time. ( )

It seems I had always woken up in the morning with leaves and bits of grass in my toes and under my sheets as if I'd been a ghost wandering the countryside at night.
