Set back in time before cars. The man who sells vegetables from a cart has lost an eye, he looks like a potato to the neighborhood boys. isn't much to look at, the boys tease and taunt him, but he is every kind and gentle. One boy regrets his actions and is forgiven by the man. A story of true bullying and treating others with respect, how you would want to be treated.

Story about a grandfather telling his grandchildren about his life working with fruits and vegetables as a farmer. He tells the children how he learned to appreciate life from starting from rock bottom and moving his way up.

I would say this is somewhat historical fiction twisted in with a picture book.

A grandfather tells his grandchildren about life working with fruits and vegetables. He explains how he learned to appreciate life starting from the very bottom. This is a good text for appreciation and talking about old times. Story about a family and an old memory.
