The illustrations are wonderful. This could certainly inspire and challenge young poets to work on their craft! ( ) Reverso poems that often serve to tell two sides of each fairy tale, such as from the perspective of goldilocks, then in reverse from the perspective of the bears. Intriguing and fun to read. Recommended for elementary age students, lower grades K-2 will have fun reading/listening, but the older grades 3-5 will see the reverso pattern and have fun with that aspect. What a fantastic collection of fairy tales! The author Marilyn Singer uses words and punctuation to create two poems from opposing fairy tale characters with the exact same words in the reverse order. You see the different perspectives and see how fun language can be to play with. My students enjoy seeing how the words shift slightly to create new meaning and tone. This book is a great addition to a fairy tale or poetry unit. The illustrations are also enjoyable and add interest for kids. no reviews | add a review
