Jesse had a mind of her own and though Hatch wanted her love and was a work aholic himself, he couldn't help love her free spirit and domesticity. Her father wanted her to mold her life into his way of thinking and she wouldn't have it. She got a job with a psycich and rescued a girl from a dangerous cult. Jessie Benedict was the caregiver for her family, the person who made sure that the patriarch, her father, Vincent, did what was needed of him. Everyone used her for this. She also had a serious problem with holding down a job. Her latest job has her working for a psychic, when the psychic falls and a mother looks for help to rescue her daughter from the grips of a cult, Jessie can't help but rush in. Sam Hatchard was her father's protege, heir to the business throne. Jessie didn't want it but no-one wanted it to pass from family hands so a plan to get them together was hatched. Jessie is afraid that all Sam wants from her is the business, while she wants love and a husband who won't put business over her like her father did with his two wives.
