Fun poems with a cute twist in them that children will be able to connect to. My favorite was the one titles Punishment and simply stated Eating cauliflower for an hour. ( )

Children will enjoy the funny, yet sweet poems in The Butterfly Jar. The poetry by Jeff Moss focuses on some imaginative characters - Mr. Bogardus, Banana King and Lonesome Joan while also capturing the innocence of the imagination - "If Shoes Could Fly." Some of the poems are as simple as having one or two lines yet will make you chuckle or laugh out loud. The illustrations give as much life to the poems as do the words. This collection can be enjoyed at any age, by independent readers or as a family. ( )
