Because of Anya is an amazing read. Anya is a young girl. She enjoys gymnastics. But one day that changed. She learned she got alopecia areata. It is an autoimmune disease. It cause your hair to fall out as if you were allergic to your own hair. At first she thought it wouldn't be too bad. But before she knew it she has to wear a wig. Her classmates notices her wig and wonders if she cancer. One day in PE class something horrible happened. Anya Never wanted to go to school again.
This book is a good read for early middle school students and 5 graders. This book has a lot of sad parts. But it all makes up for it in the end. It shows courage and bravery. Because of Anya it a trilling book it takes you on an emotional roller coaster. When I read it I never wanted to put it down. I picked up this book because I can never find any book with the main character named Anya. This book is a great read. I recommend it to middle school and 5 grade. ( )

Because of Anya is about this girl who has a rare disease, alopecia areata, which is painless and otherwise harmless, but causes hair to fall out, sometimes all over the body. Her friends were talking one day, and realized that she was wearing a wig. They were going to ask her about it, but thought it would make her uncomfortable to they left it. A couple days later, while they were in gym, Anya's wig falls off, and she runs out of the class and doesn't come back to school for a long time. One of her friends go to Anya at her home, and finds out about the disease.
I thought the idea of this book was really good but it was quite a short book for the story and ending very quickly. Other than that, it was a good book but wasn't as good as some of Haddix's other books. ( )

It was pretty good, but in my opinion did not measure up to the rest of Haddix's books. Haddix dealt well with difficult subject matter, and it was very informative - always good in a fictional book. Despite the subject of the book, it is geared toward mature young readers.

This book was a good book, because it had a good starting, a good middle, and a surprise ending. There is two main characters, and it comes together smoothley. ( )
