Comic and Graphic Books. Juvenile Fiction. Juvenile Literature. HTML:From the author of I Dont Want to Be a Frog comes a hilarious new picture book that asks readers to solve one very important mystery

Its Mr. Tortoises birthday, and he cant wait to eat cake with his friends. But theres a hitch! Mr. Tortoise cant remember how old he is, so his friends dont know how many candles to put on the cake. And they wont stop (or slice) until they figure out the mystery.
Could Mr. Tortoise be as many years old as there are sections on his shell? Hes twice as big as the smaller tortoise . . . so is he twice as old? After the partygoers work through a variety of possibilities, they find their way to the answer with a simple bit of addition.

Yeah, this book was obnoxious to me. Instead of answering the question kids will want (how old is the tortoise).....we get arguments from friends AND all the tortoise wants is cake. ( )

Mr Tortoise isn't concerned with his age - he just wants to eat cake with his friends. ( )

Mr. Tortoise is excited for his birthday, especially the cake! But his friends insist they must know how old he is, so they know how many candles to put on the cake. Mr. Tortoise doesn't know, and doesn't care - he just wants cake!

Funny and fun! A great read-aloud.
