Comic and Graphic Books. Juvenile Fiction. Juvenile Literature. HTML:A new graphic-novel series for emerging readers about the simple magic of true friendship

Easygoing Fox and anxious Rabbit seem like total opposites. But, somehow, they make the perfect pair! Whether searching for hidden treasure or planting a garden in their own backyard, Fox and Rabbit find everyday magic at every turn. On this first adventure, the pair will discover some new favorite things like sunsets, dandelions, and cotton candy. And they'll face new fears like heights, swimming, and (poisonous!) frogs. Thankfully, there's nothing Fox and Rabbit can't do together!

A cute graphic novel about two anthropomorphic friends. Good message about opposite personalities getting along. Good for emerging readers(1st, 2nd) who want the style and length of a graphic novel. ( )

Fox and Rabbit are good friends who have adventures together like going to a fair, the beach, and an island as well as engaging in activities such as gardening and making lemonade. Sometimes their plans go awry, but they always have fun because they have each other.

This is a very cute early reader that consists of a variety of interconnected stories. Technically they could be read as standalones, but they work better as a whole. They really function more as a chapter than the 'story' listed in the contents but either way, it is a good form for breaking up long text into manageable amounts for young readers. The format is like that of a comic book with illustration panels and dialogue bubbles.

Fox and Rabbit join other humorous duos for children in this style, such as Snail and Worm, Fox and Chick, Arlo and Pips, and so on. Like those pairings, these two also have follow-up books so kids who really enjoy silly antics and close (if unlikely) friendships will have more to pick up in the future. ( )

Another excellent duo to add to the early reader/graphic novel shelf. Alliteration and patterned language will help emerging readers.

1. Fair, Fireworks & Fred
2. Sand, Swimming & Sunset
3. Surprises, Swamps & Seeds
4. Gardening, Growing & Groaning
5. Squeeze, Sweet & Sour
