Hank the pill bug journeys to meet his friend Amelia, who wears goggles and an aviator cap like her hero, Amelia Earhart. This Amelia has brown skin and thick black braided pigtails, and she takes Hank for a ride, zooming around the yard, which transforms, in their imaginations, to Europe and back to America. At the end of their play, Hank returns to his rock; the whole thing seems like a day in the life of these two friends. Hank gazes up at Amelia. "What friendship looks like." * Re-read April/May 2019 * Re-read October 2019 no reviews | add a review
Hank is a pill bug whose daily routine involves nibbling a dead leaf, climbing up a long stick, avoiding a skateboarder, and playing pretend with his best friend, a human girl named Amelia. No library descriptions found. |

This is a sweet story about a day in the life of a cute bug. It's only a "big" day in the sense that it was full and tiring and fun.
I liked it a lot. Very charming. ( )
