"Just right for the preschool group or beginning reader."--Kirkus Reviews, pointer review. "Young listeners will be charmed by the book's humor, warmth, and surprise ending."--Horn Book. Full color. Age 3-6. A Mother For Choco is about a little bird who started off not having a mother, then he searched an asked the other animals if they were his mother. Once he came to a bear she wanted to be his mother an introduced him to her other animal children. Once Choco met them he realized it didn't matter if they weren't the same kind of animal. I gathered this story was more of an adoption story of how all these different baby animals had a mother that was not the same kind as any of them. A Mother for Choco (Paperstar) Family is about love no matter how different parents and children may be, adopted or not. Choco wishes he had a mother, but who could she be? He sets off to find her, asking all kinds of animals, but he doesn't meet anyone who looks just like him. He doesn't even think of asking Mrs. Bear if she's his mother-but then she starts to do just the things a mommy might do. And when she brings him home, he meets her other children-a piglet, a hippo, and an alligator-and learns. (amazon) no reviews | add a review
