This is a story of a little girl named Grace Bedell who wrote Abraham Lincoln asking him to grow whiskers because women love whiskers and they would tease they husbands in to voting for him for President. He took her advice and did become President, stopping on his way to the Inauguration to thank her. Grace thought he was a kind man who would make a good president. What an insightful young girl. ( )

This is a very cute little story based on letters sent between Abraham Lincoln and Grace Bedell about growing whiskers to look more affectionate. I love this story and think it gives a completely different look at Mr. Lincoln then what is usually taught and is very relatable to students. ( )

I would recommend this book for a classroom. It offers information that could be used on a report about Mr. Lincoln, and how he got his whiskers. The book was about a little girl, Grace, who wrote a letter to Mr. Lincoln asking him to grow his facial hair. The president then grew his facial hair upon her request. ( )

This book tells the story of Grace Bedell, the young girl who famously suggested that Abraham Lincoln grow a beard. As evidenced by later portraits and pictures, Lincoln took her advice. Despite being a sweet story, there's not really any information about Lincoln, other than he was elected President and that he opposed slavery. ( )
