A series of witty poems about different, familiar aspects of middle school (crushes, lockers, snobs, lunch, field trips) that avoid cliches. If read from first poem to last, the poems tell a story that starts at the beginning of a first year of middle school and finishes at the end. Junior high/upper elementary students will enjoy the authenticity of these poems with a universal tone. ( )

I enjoyed reading these simple, yet reflective of this age level, poems.
