The poems are divided into the four seasons, and as haiku poems are about nature, the poems are about young boys experiences in nature and outdoors. Each season contains six haiku poems and are accompanied by illustrations by Peter Reynolds. He uses sketch like pictures that feature one main color for each season. The haiku in the book relate to many experiences of young boys outdoors, and it is a great book to introduce young boys to poetry and haiku poems. ( ) This book is fast paced and goes through the four seasons. Each season has several poems that fit with the season. The poems relate to the season that they are in, but do not form a story from beginning to end. The poems are lighthearted and fun to read. The illustrations depict children having fun during each season. The poems are all in Haiku form and directed at boys. I like that there is a very positive feeling given by this book. no reviews | add a review
