She writes about farm life, occasionally reminisces about her childhool and talks about the changes she was seeing. There's even one article where she talks about the hard winter of 1880-81, which was the basis of 'The Long Winter'.
I found it an interesting read for the aspects of daily life for her and daily life in general. (
