The Essential Worldwide Monster Guide contains a collection of poems about monsters and other mythical creatures all around the world. Two children begin their journey traveling from South America to Africa and many other places around the world. One each new place the children encounter a different master or mythical creature. All of the poems rhyme. At the end of each poem, at the bottom of the page or on the next page is an insert giving information about the master and where it is from. ( )

This book uses rhyme to discuss many folklore monster icons from around the world. Some of the monsters include the Alicanto from South America and Sasquatch from North America. Good book to use to bring an interesting twist on cultural diversity to your classroom library. ( )
