Hyperlinks on iOS

When I look at my 'Your books' page on my iPad, clicking on a title takes me to the book page. A long press on the title brings up the contextual menu as though the link is an image, not a hyperlink. I would expect the long press to act as it does elsewhere, bringing up hyperlink options including 'open link in new tab'.

I've noticed the same issue when I try and access tags or authors in a separate tab. It seems to have been happening for a while, so I don't think it's to do with recent iOS updates (maybe iOS 16?). It's not a major issue, but it's annoying when I want to bring up a list of a specific author/tag, or edit a book, without losing my place in the list. Generally, I manage on one of the downstairs computers, but I shall be working on the upstairs and attic books in the coming months, and for that it's easiest to work on the iPad rather than lugging books around the house.

iPad Air 3rd gen, iPadOS 17.3.1, Chrome version 122.0.6261.89

FWIW, I don’t see this behavior on my iPad (5th gen, I think) iPadOS 16.7.5 with either DuckDuckGo browser ver 7.89.0.0 or Safari. I get the normal hyperlink menu.

It's specifically the catalogue list. Other hyperlinks on the page work as expected - a long press brings up the hyperlink menu with 'open in new tab', it's just hyperlinks in the list that don't.

I see this happening, only in my own catalog and not other members', I think because of the functionality of those fields in "Your books". Because you can double-tap to edit the field, I'm guessing there's some functionality issue with the long tap not recognizing it as a link but rather as text, maybe... as much as I can understand it. I'll ask conceptDawg about this.

>4 kristilabrie: Cheers! I got in an awful mess when working on one of the upstairs bookcases because of the issue.
