Single line -cr- spacing for profile “About you”

Is there any was to force single line spacing in the
“About me” in one’s profile text box? I’d normally use br in angle brackets but it doesn’t work. Using return button on keyboard forces a new paragraph.
I don’t want double line spacing but I want sentences with single spacing between them. Like here.
I can do that here with just using the return button here but in the “About Me” text box in My Profile this results in double spacing. See my profile.

Are you in WYSIWYG mode or HTML mode?

When you first click into the profile you're in WYSIWYG mode. To change modes, Go to the edit tool bar and click on the two angled brackets button. Then you can use the br code.
