How do I borrow and read a book from someone else's catalog?

You cannot.

LibraryThing is not a library - it is a cataloguing site. Members list their own libraries for their own records; they do not offer the books for other members to read.

If you look at the right menu on a work page, you will see links to libraries and bookstores - that may help you find the book. But you cannot borrow it from LT or a member of LT just because they have it in their catalog.

Hi, Carolyn! You can't actually borrow books here. LibraryThing is a tool for cataloguing your personal collection and looking at other people's. You can certainly get plenty of ideas about things you might like to read, though.

what if they are sleeping? Surely i could borrow and read a book from their catalogue then? I would return it before they awoke, i promise.

>1 Carolyn0210: If you use Chrome, the Library Extension, when set up with the libraries you are a member of, can help you identify whether a book you are looking at is available to you at one of those libraries
