I thought that this was a cute book overall, but the plot was spread a bit too widely for such a short chapter book--so the author was unable to fully flesh out any of the plot points. I did connect with Albert's reading issues, as I to struggled with reading as a child, and I liked that this book was partially about old people--as anyone who knows me knows that I am the biggest fan of the elderly you will ever meet.
It's driving me absolutely nuts that I can't remember this book well enough to do a more in-depth review. I haven't read it in years and have apparently lost it somewhere along the way, but I remember that it was my VERY favorite book for a good long while. One of those ones that I read more times then I could count. It's a sad book and a heavy-topic-ed book, but it is so wonderfully written and so gripping, and it's very very easy to fall in love with these characters.
