This fable is about an grasshopper that likes to dance and singing all day and an ant that works hard. This story is good for teaching responsibility and the appropriate times to play and appropriate times to work hard. I would use this book in younger elementary grades to set the tone at the beginning on the year and when we are talking about jobs within the classroom and outside of the classroom.

Tom Paxton's classic song comes to life in this boisterous picture book. Rhythmic verse leads you through a wild kingdom where animals burst from every page. Monkeys are scritch, scritch, scratchin', and kangaroos are hop, hop, hoppin', making every moment an adventure.
