This book was funny and also thought-provoking. It made me think about the nature of friendship and of prejudice, from several angles. Also, it was a mighty good story! Mel had to grow up by making a lot of mistakes, but she did learn, and she did grow up, and there was some kind of happy ending for everyone. I did think it ended kind of suddenly, but all the threads were tied up after all.

Um, yeah. I haven't read a book this fast in ages. Very engrossing.

This book was annoying. I wanted to like it, but it switched back and forth between the present, past, and family/Micah history. Plus, the whole werewolf thing made me want to just stop reading it half way through. It wasn't typical teenage angst, it had no redeeming qualities to me at all. You make the decision on whether she is really a werewolf or just plain crazy at the end. Personally, I don't care. She was not a sympathetic character at all.

Not a fan. Didn’t care about the characters, found the dialog repetitive and annoying and the part about ghosts truly served no purpose.

Extra big creep factor that one of the main characters “Glory’s best girl” is a seasoned prostitute with a city wide reputation and seemingly huge list of dead lovers and it’s revealed that she’s only 16......which is just gross in about 1000 ways. The main talking ghost is her dead boyfriend...who is 36.
