-Retold by Kimmel, Eric A. The Frog Princess. Illus by Rosanne Litzinger. Holiday House, 2006, Unp, Everybody Book

-The Frog Princess is a mysterious and deep story that follows a feud between the headman, his daughter, and the Frog People. Depicted by simple, yet a unique drawing style with vibrant colors that represent different clans and the beautiful landscape of Southeast Alaska, this unusual love connection makes a fascinating story of transformation and symbolizes many different cultural aspects of the Tlingit people.

He then goes to Hyena's house and sees Hyena has a magic stick that cleans for him. He takes the stick and uses it at his own house. In the end everything ends up okay, after Anansi accidentally causes a flood and Hyena fixes it. This is a very cool folktale and a very fun story. I think it would be a good read aloud, to help show off other cultures, for first or second grade age students.… (more)
