This book is very informational. It discusses in depth the segregation of California ten years before the Brown vs. Board of Eduction. I would not recommend this for very young grades because of the vocabulary regarding the court and the law. It could be altered and some aspects of the book could be used, because it is a great book with a wonderful meaning.

This was one of my favorite books as a child! Of course it was mostly because it had my name which, at the time, wasn't very common. I remember how special it made me feel & made me excited for my first day of school.
