About the Author

Leigh Bardugo was born in Jerusalem, Israel. She graduated from Yale University. Before becoming an author, she worked in advertising, journalism, and most recently, as a makeup and special effects artist in Hollywood. She is the author of The Grisha Trilogy and the Six of Crows Series. The second show more book of the Six of Crows Series, Crooked Kingdom, became a New York Times bestseller in 2016. Shadow and Bone (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy Book 1) by Leigh Bardugo

I enjoyed this book so much. I had a hard time putting it down. It is certainly a stereotypical young adult fantasy book, but that’s exactly why I wanted to read it. Definitely plan to read the others in the series.

The Familiar: A Novel by Leigh Bardugo

DNF - the first chapter was SO annoying. If this hadn't happened. If this hadn't happened. For an entire chapter! Way too twee. I've heard that it gets better about chapter 15 tho, so I may try again in the future, because I loved 9th House and Hellbent SO much.
