I grew up with Goosebumps, Goosebumps is my entire childhood, but, as much as it pains me to say, this felt very underwhelming. The horror premise was tropey, the writing rudimentary, and the twist ending sudden as it was corny. I did like the characters, especially Seth and his gang of friends. Although, it was more like I imposed certain characteristics on them -- the same way you would with a pet -- than there were characteristics explicitly mentioned. Uh, this is the first time I read something besides a comic in a long time, so maybe relating with characters is what most people do when reading an actual book? Look, I'm pushing out of my comfort zone, it takes time to learn these skills 😅… (more)
